Twenty-One Essential Basics – Part One

The general concept of the card game is to be dealt cards totaling up to 21. Every gambler is assigned two cards. When a gambler is given a nine or less and an Ace they have been dealt a soft hand. When the player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been handed to all players at the table, including the dealer, each blackjack player is given the opportunity to make one of 6 decisions:
Taking another card (Hit): When a blackjack player says hit me the dealer will give him another card, if the adding of that card makes the total greater than 21 the blackjack player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to twenty one the blackjack player will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet achieved twenty one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a player is happy with the cards they’ll stand. Once this has happened the croupier will disclose his/her hand and the gambler who has gotten 21 or the nearest to twenty-one will acquire a win.
Doubling Down: A player may ask to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have laid. Once you’ve taken this action you can only be given one more card. The specifics of doubling down are usually specified by the blackjack table or betting house rules so before playing make certain you are familiar with the house rules. If you are wagering at a web-based betting house this is usually very easy.
